How to create a baton
Overview
A baton is a secure package you sell to someone. It can contain digital files, links, notes, physical items, or a hybrid of both. The buyer previews what is inside, pays through Stripe, and receives the included deliverables through the fulfillment methods you enable.
Add Your Items
Choose Create Baton, add the items you want to sell, and give each item a clear name. Files can use Details Only or Protected previews, and physical items should include enough detail for a buyer to understand condition, quantity, handling needs, and delivery expectations.
Design Buyer Previews
Use the Preview Designer to shape what buyers see before purchase. Protected previews should prove value without exposing the original asset, while thumbnails and badges should make the listing easy to understand at a glance.
Configure Fulfillment
Choose whether the baton is digital, physical, or hybrid. Digital items can unlock after purchase, physical items can use shipping, pickup, or local delivery, and hybrid listings should make each part of the handoff obvious.
Set Pricing And Inventory
Set the price in dollars and review the platform fee before publishing. If the baton has physical stock, packages, or limited editions, configure inventory so checkout can prevent overselling.
Publish Safely
Before publishing, review every item, package, preview, price, fulfillment method, and buyer requirement. If the baton includes files, keep the page open while uploads finish. Once it is ready, share the baton link with your buyer.
After Purchase
After the buyer pays, Batonic unlocks eligible digital content and starts physical fulfillment work where needed. The 48-hour inspection period begins, and seller payout waits until inspection ends or the buyer waives it early.
