Batonic

Manage packages and inventory

Overview

Packages let buyers choose the version or bundle they want. Inventory keeps limited items honest. Together, they protect buyers from selecting a package that cannot actually be delivered.

Package Clarity

Name packages by what the buyer receives, not by internal shorthand. If packages include different files, physical items, licenses, or fulfillment promises, make those differences obvious before checkout.

Inventory Accuracy

Use inventory for limited physical stock, limited hybrid bundles, and any package that can sell out. Keep counts current and pause checkout when stock is unavailable.

Avoid Overselling

Do not publish scarce physical or hybrid inventory without a count. If buyers can purchase at the same time, Batonic should be treated as the source of truth for reservation and purchase state.

Editing Published Batons

When editing a published baton, avoid changing package meaning for buyers who already purchased. Prefer adding a new package or version when the deliverable changes materially.

Edge Cases

Watch for package substitutions, inventory edits after purchase, partial fulfillment, and hybrid bundles where digital delivery succeeds but the physical item needs support review.
