Why Batonic? Inspect your deal before seller payout

Feel unsure before paying? Batonic gives eligible buyers 48 hours to inspect delivery. Open a dispute during that window to pause seller payout while we review.

You should not have to pay on blind trust

You found something you want. The seller wants payment. But there is still that question: what if I pay and it is not what they promised?

Batonic gives you a practical answer. Put the deal in a Baton—a listing that records what you are buying, the price, the preview, and delivery terms. Pay through Batonic, then inspect eligible delivery before the seller receives the payout. You get a clear agreement and time to check it.

Why a direct payment is not enough

A transfer confirms that money moved. It does not confirm the laptop works, the download contains the promised files, or the commissioned work matches the brief. If money has already reached the seller, your next step may be asking for it back and proving your claim.

Trying to untangle the agreement after a deal goes wrong adds stress when you already want answers. Batonic builds the agreement, delivery record, and inspection into the purchase from the start.

Check delivery before the seller is paid

Batonic gives eligible purchases up to 48 hours after qualifying delivery to check that you received what was promised. Your order shows the applicable deadline. You pay at checkout; seller payout waits for the inspection process.

Open an eligible dispute during the active inspection window, before accepting delivery or waiving inspection, and Batonic pauses the disputed seller payout while the issue is reviewed. The seller has not received those held proceeds. That is a better place to start resolving a problem than asking someone to send back money they already received.

Batonic reviews the listing, your selected package, delivery records, and your evidence. We reach out to both parties to understand the problem and work toward a solution. Refunds depend on the facts and transaction terms; the hold gives that review time to happen before the affected payout is released.

What this looks like in your deal

If a promised file is missing, you can point to the selected package and delivery record. You do not have to reconstruct the entire purchase from scattered messages.

The seller asked for a payment app. Now what?

Read the guide for the request in front of you: Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. Each explains the gap between sending money and checking a purchase—and how to bring the deal into Batonic.

Found the deal on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or through a digital creator? Start with a Baton before making a separate payment. Keep any existing protected marketplace order in its supported flow.

Ask for a Baton before you pay

Send the seller this message:

Please send me a Baton with exactly what is included, the total price, and delivery terms. I want to check the purchase before seller payout.

  1. Review the seller's Baton, preview, and selected package.
  2. Check the total fees and inspection deadline before checkout.
  3. Inspect delivery promptly. If it does not match the agreement, open a dispute before your window ends.

Selling? Create a Baton and give your buyer a clear reason to feel comfortable paying. You can share a private Baton for a deal that starts elsewhere.

Make the agreement clear. Give yourself time to check it. Ask for a Baton.

Know what your protection covers

Check your order's inspection terms before paying. Accepting delivery or waiving inspection can release payout early. Batonic is not escrow, does not guarantee a refund, and cannot recover money sent outside Batonic. See the inspection guide and terms.
